A good old fashioned sing song, refreshments and stalls are just a few of the attractions on offer at the Peace Hospice this Saturday. In celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics, the Hospice has organised a ‘Going for Gold’ coffee morning to mark the special occasion.
The event which takes place between 10am – 12.30pm is open to everyone and entry is free. There will also be a range of Jubilee merchandise on sale.
Hospice Community Fundraising Manager, Gill Crowson, said ‘This is also a ‘golden opportunity’ for people to search their jewellery box and other hiding places as we’re inviting them to bring along of piece of gold or even a diamond - that odd earring, broken necklace or bracelet – donate it to the Hospice and they’ll be given a free glass of bubbly or soft drink for the loyal toast! We will then turn all the unwanted items into money for the Hospice.’
